Basil Pesto, Nut-free

1 cup fresh basil

½ cup scallion

5 clove garlic, peeled

2 lemons, zested and juiced

¼ cup parmesan cheese ( can be left out if dairy free option is desired)

1 1/5 cup oil (olive oil is preferred but any cooking oil will do)

Directions: In a blender or food processor, add in all ingredients and blend until smooth.
